Our Approach
Our approach is not to adopt a rigid structure for carrying out design work as every project is unique with different objectives and requirements. The structure for any project must be carefully considered and tailored to match the site, related facilities and budget that is available.
That said, every project needs a solid base and accurate plans to assist in defining the vision for the project, the theme of the golf design and the ability to accurately quantify this design.
Establishing an accurate budget and project timeline are essential components of a successful project and we do not underestimate the importance of this employing the latest software programmes to enable us to calculate accurate quantities and produce professional plans. We will provide all clients with a complete set of drawings and documents for tender purposes.
Dedicating time to due diligence and implementing a, ‘no stone unturned,’ approach in the planning and design stage is the best way to avoid costly mistakes in the field and confusion with the contractors building the course.
Whatever structure is agreed we insist on a very 'hands-on' approach once the construction starts as working daily with the contractor and shapers is the only way to ensure the vision is realised and build quality is satisfactory.
The following is the rough process that will be implemented:
Stage 1:
- Site visits and due diligence
- Routing concepts and masterplanning
- Site verification of routing
- Creation of presentation masterplan
Stage 2:
- Creation of individual hole designs with earthworks calculations
- Compilation of design sketchbook
- Preparation of golf course quantities for budget estimating
Stage 3:
- Preparation of complete tender package documents and drawings
- Evaluation of tenders and contractor selection
Stage 4:
- Set up of structure for construction activity.
- Supervision of golf course construction works, grassing and finishing works.
